Semester 1 Final Assessment Dates
All students will participate in final assessments/exams for each of their courses as follows:
Thurs Jan 25 - Period 1 class
Fri Jan 26 - Period 2 class
Mon Jan 29 - Period 3 class
Tues Jan 30 - Period 4 class
Wed Jan 31 - Contingency day for final assessments/exams
Important Notes:
- All students are expected to attend their course’s final assessment as they are an important part of the final course evaluation. Please do not plan trips during this time.
- Final Assessments/Exams begin promptly at 9:00am on each of the Final Assessment Days.
- Students are also expected to arrive on time, but will not be at a disadvantage if they are late due to a bus arriving after the bell.
- Final Assessments/Exams run for 1.5 – 2 hours each. Students may leave the school following their final assessment. The cafeteria will be available for studying.
- Buses operate at regular times. Some students remain at the school to study and wait for their bus; others find an alternate way home. Please communicate with your child to determine what they will do for the afternoon. Students who remain at school are expected to study quietly.
- Students do not have to be in uniform for Final Assessment days.
- In case of inclement weather throughout the final assessment days, we will adhere to the following to ensure consistency across all Wellington Catholic high schools:
1) If all buses across the region are cancelled – Final Assessments will be postponed by one day.
2) If county buses are cancelled only – Final Assessments will be postponed by one day in schools affected by cancellations. (i.e., if Division 2 Blue or Division 3 Pink buses are cancelled, exams at the schools affected will postpone exams by one day). Our Lady of Lourdes has buses from Division 1 Yellow (Guelph) and Division 2 Blue (Centre Wellington).
During the Final Assessment Days, the Late Bus becomes an early bus for students living north of Guelph. On Thurs Jan 25, Fri Jan 26, Mon Jan 29 and Tues Jan 30, the Late Bus will pick students up from Lourdes at 11:40 am (not 5:30 pm). The Late bus will only run on Wed Jan 31 if final assessments are moved to that day because of bus cancellations/inclement weather. Please note that all regular bus routes run at regular times during the Final Assessment Days.
